What's the Matter with Kansas?
Nothing, as far as I'm concerned, but I've been meaning to post about last month's Thomas Frank reading for a while, and you know how time slips away from me. When did monthly posting become such a struggle? That's neither here nor there, but Thomas Frank is a fellow Shawnee Mission East alum (Go Lancers!) and managed to draw one of the more passionate crowds I've seen at a Rainy Day Books event. Lots of booing and hissing and cheering and clapping; there was a woman a few rows behind me who couldn't stop tongue-clicking to the point that I had to restrain myself from getting up and escorting her out.
All of this as I get ready to have my mail sent to Leawood again, and on the heels of a great trip to New York and wondering where to go and what to do there. As usual. See, I don't really need to post more often, do I?
